RE: For Nascar fans
One more thing...Texas Motor Speedway is a great place to watch a race. We sit in Turn #1 but I have been all over the place to watch races since it opened in 1997. Most every seat is a good seat to see the race.
RE: For Nascar fans
I am posting from Texas Motor Speedway Sunday evening (almost 11pm) after the race today. We will pull out tomorrow morning. I have an infield spot that I do not use anymore. I usually give it to friends or business associates. For the past 5 years I have camped in the "VIP" camping area - water and 50 amp hookups and on an asphalt marked parking area.
Compared to the infield spot that I have it is very quiet and subdued. I've got three spots side by side so I always have family or friends camping with me. We have a blast and it is some of my favorite "camping" that I do.
To me NASCAR is an "event" with a race thrown in also. I get to the track on Wednesday and don't leave until the following Monday. I really didn't mind the infield too much but the constant use of generators at all hours (really, why do you need to run a generator all night when it is 45 degrees outside?) finally drove me out.
NASCAR is not an inexpensive "hobby" and it certainly is an expensive way to camp, but let's face it - there is really nothing economical about owning an RV anyway so why let the cost of NASCAR camping or race tickets bother you?
